YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Azure CloudOps Engineer, you will be part of a specialized team responsible for enhancing the operational excellence of Azure-based customer platforms. You will design, automate, optimize, and support cloud operations across infrastructure, identity management, networking, observability, database operations, incident management, and platform reliability.

This is neither a pure development role nor a traditional support role. It is an end-to-end CloudOps position focused on production readiness, operational stability, and continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve Azure operations for business-critical enterprise platforms.

  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate operational and technical requirements across Azure services.

  • Build and maintain automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

  • Design and implement Azure architectures for hybrid and cloud-native environments.

  • Operate and optimize Azure services across:

    • Networking
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Governance
    • Security and Compliance
    • Platform Reliability

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.

  • Drive operational excellence for Azure App Services and Web Apps.

  • Operate and support Azure Database for PostgreSQL, including:

    • Backup and recovery procedures
    • Performance tuning
    • Availability and maintenance management
    • Operational troubleshooting

  • Support incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration in production environments.

  • Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, support handover guides, and incident reports.

  • Drive Azure cost transparency and optimization initiatives.

  • Support integration with enterprise tools such as:

    • New Relic
    • Vault and other secrets management solutions

  • Collaborate closely with lead developers, architects, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, product owners, and delivery teams.

  • Contribute to the development of structured support processes and operational readiness for on-call environments.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Must-have Skills

    • Proven experience as a Senior Azure Engineer, Azure Operations Engineer, or CloudOps Engineer in enterprise or business-critical environments.

    • Strong expertise in:

      • Azure Networking
      • Microsoft Entra ID
      • Azure Governance
      • Security & Compliance

    • Hands-on experience with:

      • Terraform
      • PowerShell
      • Azure CLI and/or Bash Scripting

    • Strong experience in:

      • Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting
      • Incident Management and Troubleshooting
      • Performance and Stability Optimization
      • Azure App Services and Web Apps
      • Azure Database for PostgreSQL
      • Backup, Restore, and Disaster Recovery Procedures
      • Cost Management and FinOps Fundamentals

    • Practical knowledge of:

      • DevOps Processes
      • CI/CD Pipelines
      • Release and Change Management Processes

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    • High level of ownership and proactive working style.

    • Ability to work effectively within distributed delivery teams.

    • Strong documentation skills and structured communication approach.

    Nice-to-have Skills

    • Experience with New Relic integration.

    • Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management solutions.

    • Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and Kubernetes.

    • Microsoft Azure certifications such as:

      • AZ-104
      • AZ-305
      • AZ-400

    • Experience working in regulated enterprise environments or the utilities and energy sector.
