We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with solid experience in Playwright-based test automation to join our Quality Engineering practice at adesso SE. You will work on meaningful projects for customers across Europe, bring your automation expertise into cross-functional teams, and help shape how we deliver quality at scale.

Responsibilities
– Build and maintain Playwright test automation in real project settings
– Assess applications for testability and identify what is worth automating
– Set up and manage test data and test environments
– Plan, execute and document tests; track defects and communicate progress
– Take ownership of test automation and coordinate testing activities in projects
– Connect automated tests to CI/CD pipelines
– Work directly with customer stakeholders and internal development teams
– Share your knowledge and support less experienced colleagues
Responsibilities
Requirements
– 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation
– Good working knowledge of Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript
– Familiarity with at least one other test automation tool (e.g. Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO)
– Understanding of test automation patterns and how to keep test code maintainable
– Some experience with CI/CD integration (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
– Experience managing test data or test environments in real projects
– Curiosity about AI tools — you have used or explored tools like GitHub Copilot or similar
– Comfortable working with tools like Jira, Xray, or similar
– ISTQB Foundation Level certified (or willing to certify within the first 6 months)
– Good English communication skills — written and spoken
Requirements

– ISTQB Advanced Level certification
– Experience in client-facing or consulting roles
– BDD/Gherkin experience (Cucumber or similar)
– API or performance testing background
